For my inaugural entry, I present the first pictures of my current project: a coat for the Mid East Feast event to be hosted by the Barony of Twin Moons on August 21:
This striped raw silk will be the coat, which will have short sleeves and will be about knee-length (primarily because I only have a small amount of the fabric):

The skirt of the coat will be very full, as you can see just from what the rear gore looks like after being pieced together:

Then there are the side gores:

Here are pieces of the silk draped over the red linen that will be the underdress (a Persian wrap-dress), to give an idea of the colors involved:

I'll be wearing black silk pants underneath.
The coat will be trimmed in black bias tape; I'm thinking about using the remnants from the striped silk to make bias tape for trimming the wrap dress. Joseph may have had his Coat of Many Colors; we're calling this the Coat of "AHH! MY EYES! MY EYES!"
