Jan. 22nd, 2006 04:05 pmSo here I am today, at Aurora's to work on my pavilion, and I needed to run to the store to get more pins.
And while there-- of course, I cannot walk through JoAnn's without looking at the FABRIC-- I find this eyelet fabric that incorporates the same exact pattern I'm using for my embroidery project.
You know, the pattern I copied from a picture of a silver bowl found in the Sutton Hoo ship burial?
Same. Exact. Pattern.
How cool is that? That such a neat little pattern has been repeated and repeated and redone and redone and maintained in textile arts long enough that it is being used in completely modern fabric produced in MY lifetime, and then here I am embroidering it on soemthing so that I can pretend to be from a time period much earlier in the lifespan of said artit just tickles me..
