~*~Not because you have to, but because you WANT to! Things you enjoy, even when no one around you wants to go out and play. What lowers your stress/blood pressure/anxiety level? Make a list, post it to your journal, and then tag 5 friends and ask them to post it to theirs.~*~


1. Reading; particularly, reading in one of the chairs on the porch at the cottage in Massachusetts, feet propped up on the big window sill, breeze coming off the lake.

2. Swimming.

3. Swinging in the hammock between the two big pine trees. (Yes, back at the cottage. Damn, I wish I could go there this summer.)

4. Walking / hiking.

5. Going for long drives.

6. Photography.

7. Sleeeeeeeeep. Sweet, sweet oblivion.

101 in 1001

A friend of mine challenged me to write out list of 101 things I want to do in 1001 days—that's 101 things to do in about two and three-quarter years.

Me: "Write it out, or write it out and then actually try to do everything?"
Her: "It's no good if you're not actually gonna try to DO THE STUFF."
Me: "I don't know. This seems like an interesting academic excercise, but actually trying to do all that shit could really interfere with my priority of being a lazy fatass."
Her: "That's kinda the idea, Mags."
Me: "Oh. Well, fuck."

Needless to say, I've gotten to 65 and am stuck. STUCK, I tells ya.

Maybe I should list item 66: "Go to the grocery store and get some real food, dork," and then I could go do that right now, and cross it off the list.
