This was a really great weekend; I didn't want it to end. A&S was great, I think my class went well -- dog knows I learned a lot by teaching. I know what I want to do to improve my handout and flesh out my presentation a bit; I know how I want to organize it next time, rather than just rambling on. And look at that, I say 'next time'! I got some decent feedback from Tati about it, but I wish I'd grabbed some of the other folks, most of whom I didn't know at all, to get some feeling for whether or not they found the class useful. Next time (ha!) I might just create a feedback form to give out.

And yes, I'm still reeling from that evening's court. Sneaky, sneaky Queen! Sneaky heralds! Sneaky sisters! I left the scroll with Tati to give back to Cecilia tomorrow night; she didn't get to erase the lines, and Mariana didn't get to sign it (Cecila was doing the freaking calligraphy on site-- I actually walked into the royal ready room while she was working on it, saw one of the flower designs and thought to myself, "Wow, that looks neat, I'll have to check that out later," and then gave her the stack of all the other scrolls that needed to have names added. Sheeeeesh.)

Today, Mingo went into work ridiculously early; Tati and I rolled out much later to get breakfast, then worked on straightening and cleaning the house to get ready for the day's dag-making pary ("Hey, y'like dags?") After straightening, I started cutting the ribbon into 10-foot lengths, and she started marking the felt to cut. Ianuk and Ivan showed up after house-hunting and joined in, and then Mingo got home from work and the two of us ran out to Home Despot and Tres Amigos for wood and hardware so that I could start building a small wooden chest. It's mostly-constructed, manymany thanks to Mingo, all I have to do is finish sanding it, paint it, attach the lid, hinges, handles and some other sort-of decorative / sort-of useful hardware. I'm pretty excited about the chest.

Right now, I'm tired but still pretty wired from the drive. It was a really, really nice drive.
