The drive down to Tucson was great, Corinne is an excellent road-trip partner. We got down there just as I predicted, right around 7:30. We both got to work on The Scroll (pictures to be posted later—you know, after it's actually been GIVEN) and had a blast hanging out with the southern scribes. What an insanely talented (and at least a little plain ol' insane) group—everyone was working on stuff that was just awesome. And did I mention that we had a blast? Very, very fun.

Last night, there were a lot of silly moments ("Let's start a nuclear war ... at the gay bar!"), but there was one that was more of an 'internal' moment of silly (or just plain stupidity, I'll let y'all judge that for yourselves.)

At one point, Mariana was standing near the table while we worked on scrolls, and said, "Just so you know, ALL of you need to be at Aten Kingdom Court at Estrella," and gestured to encompass everyone in the room. And my brain kind of went, "Aw, man, I don't wanna!"

It took almost five full minutes for the rest of my brain to go, "Hey. You're the chaplet herald. You're going to be there anyway, you dumbass."
